Summary

User documents a 90-pound weight loss journey from 235lbs to 145lbs, primarily by managing portion sizes, identifying trigger foods (soy, dairy, bread, greasy foods) that worsened their digestive issues (GERD, IBS, IBD), and increasing physical activity like walking and indoor cycling rather than strict calorie counting. They emphasize the importance of creating sustainable eating habits and smaller portions while still enjoying favorite foods in moderation.

kinda long thread about how i did this (with pictures)

PREMISE: restricting ofc but i had to make some real lifestyle changes!! in the first picture i was around 235lbs (106.6kg) and the second picture around 145lbs (65.7kg) (scroll to the pictures if you want a tldr)

basically at my hw i was stuck in a binge cycle, without trauma dumping too much i think i was unknowingly basically dating a feeder, this was after gaining like 70lbs🫩 during this time of extreme overeating, my stomach issues were getting worse

  4. #4

i have soy allergy, gerd, a hiatal hernia, ibs, and ibd 😀 i say this bc this is where the lifestyle changes come in bc instead of counting calories, i had to pay attention to ingredients.

i was eating fast food multiple times a week and when i wasn’t, my meals at home were always like pasta, ramen, or an excessive amount of breakfast at random times a day (ik how to cook, i was just lazy), these foods were making my stomach blow up like i was in so much pain-

  6. #6

-gaining so much weight. due to my stomach issues, i was involuntarily projectile vomiting multiple times a day and still gaining weight from how much i was eating. i never cut anything out completely but i avoid them as much as possible

  7. #7

tldr; i had bed but was forced to start avoiding certain things due to my digestive system - i managed to make this bowl of buldak 800 calories (i didn’t know this at the time)

HOW I LOST WEIGHT: i cut my portions (didn’t count cals) and focused on the calories i burned. instead of eating 4 slices of a large extra cheesey pepperoni pizza with stuffed crust, i started eating 1-2 slices of normal pepperoni pizza (actually avoided pizza for a while)

i payed attention to the foods that were making me bloat, for me it’s soy, dairy, bread, and greasy foods so i tried my best to avoid them. i do like them tho so i ate them in moderation, i also became afraid to keep vomiting (skin looks worse bc i was wearing jeans before)

instead of just sitting at home, i started walking more! even on days i didn’t walk much, i still tried to burn calories, it was a lot easier at my hw and i worked in a supermarket so don’t feel bad if you don’t burn that much by existing, I DONT BURN THIS MUCH NATURALLY ANYMORE

  11. #11

CONCLUSION: i created new safe foods, portioned them smaller, and focused on burning calories mostly with walking, indoor cycling bc i can’t do anything active outside for some reason, or dancing

  12. #12

idk that’s basically it, i could never do things like fully cut out carbs or sugars, call me weak idc, im a junkorexic at heart, im gonna post some pics of my average older meals below pasta era (20-30oz bowls btw)

  13. #13

i ate all of these in one sitting, no pvrging, no physical activity other than going to the bathroom

  14. #14

idk why but i felt like i had to fill the entire plate/bowl and eat it all even if i felt sick

  15. #15

using a smaller bowl or spreading my food out helps a lot with this compulsion

  16. #16

i also rlly like ice cream and putting stuff in it so i started to get lower cal ice cream that has mix ins, these also don’t hurt my stomach like the other ice creams, i do have to slow down bc i like them a lot but they’re expensive and i eat them too fast

  17. #17

i still be eating hot dogs and pasta, i’m not skinny yet, just lost hella weight and hopefully gonna lose more bc maintaining is starting to make me feel gross xo
