Summary

A fan theory thread predicting what each Beast Cookie's "significant cookie" (an important figure in their past) would be like, drawing parallels to their mythological inspirations. The author argues each Beast should have a different type of meaningful relationship rather than all losing lovers, proposing specific character archetypes for Burning Spice, Mystic Flour, Eternal Sugar, Silent Salt, and Shadow Milk based on their lore and mythological origins.

Someone said that it would be boring if all the Beasts had a lover who died, and that each backstory should be different. I agree! But I still think that all of them had a "significant cookie" in their lives. Here's a 🧵 of my predictions in what each cookie would be like:

  2. #2

    1. Mogra Cookie as Burning Spice's Significant Cookie Let's take a good look on Mogra Cookie first: We know that she's based of Sati, who is described as a virtuous and good wife. She treated the Herald of Change differently than the other cookies.

  3. #3

Most of all, she influenced his present mindset on cookiekind, even without meaning to. So maybe the others are similar?

  4. #4

    2. Mystic Flour's Significant Cookie  I think it's safe to say this one's difficult because her inspiration, Guan Yin is heavily associated with many people in Taoist mythology and does not have an official lover. Specifically, she had to families. Mortals and immortals

  5. #5

Obviously, we're going to focus on the mortal ones. Mystic Flour's view on mortals is that they are greedy and materialistic. Not only that, she views their behavior worthless because everything will pass.

  6. #6

Now, back to Guan Yin. Her relationship with her family is fine, except with her father. Her father, King Miao Zhuang. The story with Guan Yin and Miao Zhuang goes like this: Guan Yin was originally born as a mortal princess named Miao Shan.

  7. #7

Her father was a King who desired more political power and wealth, and he saw the opportunity to marry off his daughter to gain those things. Miao Shan rejected it, and chose the life of Buddhism. Her father then years later falls ill, and she offers her eyes and arms to cure him

  8. #8

Now, how do I think this story can apply to the Saint of Volition? I think that when she was freshly-baked, she had a "found family" relationship with an established mortal one. These cookies are important to her because with them,

  9. #9

she's the one getting taken care of mortals and not the other way around which is her usual life. However, her relationship with her  adoptive father is strained when he tries to exploit her for his materialistic goals.

  10. #10

She declines and their relationship fails. This part is important to me because Dark Cacao might see the similarities in their stories, and relate to her because he has a strained relationship with his son.

  11. #11

Years later, her father falls ill and she does everything she can to save him and he dies anyway. This is where her enlightenment comes in, she's like "Oh, he spent his entire life trying to achieve wealth and blah blah blah and he dies anyway. It's all worthless".

  12. #12

Then her second realization comes when she is attacked by cookies who further prove this mindset right.

  13. #13

    3. Eternal Sugar's Significant Cookie I really want her significant cookie to be Pavlova Cookie because I want pre-beast yeast sugarlova, and their toxic mother-son relationship expanded on. However, we have to remember that this significant cookie has to be a new character.

  14. #14

Now, I believe that the reason she is so protective of her people and her son in general, is because she lost her daughter. Eternal Sugar has many inspirations from Greek Mythology. A little bit of this, and a little bit of that.

  15. #15

You can compare her to Aphrodite, Calypso and Circe all at once. For now, we are going to focus on her as Aphrodite because that's the inspiration that shows the most in her design and I found a myth that you could assosciate with both.

  16. #16

This is Harmonia, the Goddess of Harmony and Peace and the daughter of Aphrodite and Ares. Yes, Eros isn't an only child. The story of Harmonia is simple, she falls inlove with a mortal and on her wedding day, her mother's angry ex-husband, Hephaestus

  17. #17

gifts her a necklace that brought misfortune to her and her descendants. Now, how do I think that can be applied to Eternal Sugar's story?

  18. #18

The Bringer of Happiness has a daughter. She falls inlove with someone. Sugar is suspicious and hesitant at first but ultimately lets her daughter marry them. It turns out, her child-in-law isn't the one she's supposed to be scared of. Enemies gift her daughter a necklace,

  19. #19

that causes the both of them to die. The curse spreads and kills half of the Garden of Delights population. Sugar manages to get rid of it but most of her people and her child are already dead. This is where her current character is formed.

  20. #20

She thinks anything from the outside world is dangerous, she doesn't trust cookies to be safe by themselves, when she has Pavlova, she is overprotective of him. When he falls inlove with Silver Knight Sugarfly, she erases her memories and turns

  21. #21

baby so that he could be safe under her watch forever. Here, we will get a short summary of Eros and Psyche but with Sugarlova

  22. #22

    4. Silent Salt's Significant Cookie This is the hardest one because we are absolutely not fucking sure who this guy is based on. Before Silent Salt's release, most assumed he is based on the Norse God of Silence and Vengeance, Vidar.

  23. #23

It definitely fits but when he comes out he has christian french medieval goth themes. Even if he is based on Vidar, that God doesn't have a specific myth centered on him. I have two guesses: Either it's Elder Faerie Cookie or St. Pastry Cookie.

  24. #24

This theory was proposed by other creators but Elder Faerie was sealed inside the tree, then Ash Salt was ordered to do something to it that will cause corruption and that could lead him to having a bug form. So, in short. We could get how they met, yadda yadda.

  25. #25

Now. Listen. I literally have no proof for this one we don't even know if St. Pastry was a real cookie they could just be made up because the order is a whole ass cult but I am so desperate for devsisters to acknowledge Silent Salt's relationship with the St. Pastry Order.

  26. #26

I'm not explaining all that to you, but if you look at theories prior to Silent Salt's release they are all about his connections to it. Not only that, Pastry Cookie was involved in his episode. They didn't explain why, but I believe her involvement isnt a mere coincidence.

  27. #27

    5. Shadow Milk's Significant Cookie I know he is inspired by Lucifer Morningstar, and therefore, his significant cookie could be someone inspired by Lilith but I have a better suggestion: a traitor. The shit that happened to him doesn't exactly help it at all.

  28. #28

We know that he is purposely distant with his minions and as a result, he successfully gave no fucks about them because he doesn't fully trust them despite their devotion and he had been betrayed four times so far. His people executed him,

  29. #29

The other three are from Silent Salt, Pure Vanilla and Dark Enchantress. In my opinion, two out of three of these betrayals are very much justified but it's not in his perspective he still got betrayed. Now, how about the very first one?

  30. #30

It may not make sense because we know Shadow Milk's perspective on cookies is that they would rather take sweet deceit than the bitter truth. When he says this, it's not exactly derogatory. Infact, his anger is all directed towards the Witches.

  31. #31

But, let's look back to the milkcrowns. These couldn't have possibly bloomed from the tears of cookies because it says it comes from being deceived, and they like being deceived whether or not it causes harm. I believe the milkcrowns comes from The Fount of Knowledge's
