🌟VRoid Studio🌟 An oldie but a goodie! VRoid is an absolutely incredible free application that lets you create original characters in the form of a 3D model that can be used for Vtubing, video games, and more! It is highly customizable and not only has a lot of default assets and outfits available, but you can also create your own assets, such as outfits and hairstyles! You can even import assets (eyes, hairstyle, outfits, etc.) that others have made as well and make genuinely fantastic looking models! So many people have listed both free, and paid importable VRoid assets online that are not hard to find! (such as on Ko-fi and Booth) I have personally used this program many many times, and highly recommend it! 🌟Canva🌟 Canva is a free-to-use online graphic design platform that has millions of premade templates for things such as thumbnails, overlays, stream screens, slideshows, posters, schedules, logos, and many more things! It also has a built-in video editor! You can use the assets on there to customize premade templates or to make something without a template! I literally use this website all the time to make my thumbnails, schedules, and other content creation related things and I highly recommend it! Fair warning though, that it has both a paid & free version, so the paid version has more features. I've used both and am actually currently using the free version cause I'm on a budget right now myself and it works fine! Another warning is there ARE some Gen-AI assets/features on there so be careful, I can look past it because of how great of a program it is, but I explicitly avoid using any of the Gen-AI features or assets. canva.com

🌟Picrew🌟 Picrew is a japanese site where you can create and make custom art/avatars/pngtubers/Pfps etc. for free! Everything is created by artists that have set things up in a way where you can customize different details of the artpiece to make your own character! There are lots of different styles and some have more or less customization than others, but it's a super fun site to use and play around with to help create art and assets of your character for completely free!! picrew.me/en

🌟Picrew Pngtuber Doc🌟 I found a google doc that @Squiiji_3D made that has a bunch of different Picrews shown with links that are specifically great for PNGtuber creation if you are interested in that and don't want to spend a long time searching yourself!! 🌟Emotelab🌟 Emotelab is a simple character and emote/sticker creator tool that has so many options and allows you to design custom characters and export both animated and static files! It is a one-time payment of 9$ but I'm recommending it for a reason, because it is INCREDIBLE for the price!! I've used it to create both animated and static emotes and stickers for both discord and Twitch, and have also used it for fun assets of my character to include in videos (shorts for example) I often use gifs from it for social media posts and have uploaded some to Giphy too, and have even used it to create two different animated pngtubers that look incredible! You can also edit the textures if you want it to look even more accurate to your character (I commisioned someone to edit the textures for me for around 14$!) but I would still recommend it even if you don't get the textures edited! store.steampowered.com/app/4301100/Em…

🌟Vgen🌟 Vgen is a popular website that is full of thousands of artists with commissions open, as well as shop pages (that can even include free stuff)! I have commissioned many artists on VGen before and highly recommend it! Just make sure to read their reviews and TOS and accept their terms before you blindly accept a listing! There are commission listings of all kinds in all different price ranges from emotes, pngtubers, vtuber models, art pieces, custom overlays, memes, you name it! But I have genuinely found many extremely affordable but high-quality listings on there when I was on a budget! There is also the shop function that is full of both paid and free already made Vtuber models, backgrounds, assets, etc. that is awesome to browse on too, I've managed to get several really pretty backgrounds on there for completely free! vgen.co

🌟Customizable Vtuber Models🌟 A customizable Vtuber model is a pre-made Vtuber model that comes with built-in customization options that you can do inside of Vtube Studio itself! (Most popular 2D Vtuber tracking software) which lets you use sliders to customize every aspect of the model to create your own character! There are ones in all different styles, and ones that are feminine, androgynous, and masculine! They have all different prices, and there is even a really gorgeous 3D customizable Vtuber model by @pastell_vtuber (which is the only one that I know of that isn't 2D) This is the first thing on this thread that you could argue isn't affordable, however if you compare it to the price of a custom made from-scratch Vtuber model art +rigging it is VERY cheap, especially for the quality. (There are also some dirt cheap customizable Vtuber models out there as well just may take some scrolling to find) Vgen is actually a great place to find these, as well as Ko-fi and Etsy (Just be careful with Etsy since there are some scams/Ai on there) I recommend searching "Customizable Vtuber Model" on the shop section in Vgen and you will see sooo many different options and styles! I would say that the average cost for a high-quality customizable Vtuber model would be around 140-150$ HOWEVER I have seen (and even bought) Customizable models that were way cheaper and extremely high quality! I've seen some ranging anywhere from literally 3-10 bucks to 50$+ it really just depends on the style and what exactly you are looking for in terms of how much customization you are wanting!

🌟Free Art Programs!🌟 Of course, I am not telling you to just "Pick up a pencil/tablet/mouse" but this IS an affordable option, and I find creating in this way to be genuinely so fun! I know many that draw with their finger or mouse so you don't *need* expensive gear! I figured I would include these as one of the last things! This is for those that maybe enjoy drawing already or those that want to learn how to create art or assets from scratch themselves!! There are so many free art/asset tutorials and videos online and it can be so fun to give it a shot! So here are some great free art programs to try! 🌟Free on Computer🌟 Krita: krita.org/en/ (Have used, works really well!) Fire Alpaca: firealpaca.com (have used maybe once and it's highly rated!) GIMP: gimp.org (Have used a long time ago and worked well!) 🌟Free on Android/IOS🌟 Sketchbook: sketchbook.com (Have used and works!) It is a one-time fee of 13$ but I thought it would be a fun one to include for the artists or aspiring artists reading this thread! I know there are many more free and affordable human-made resources for content creators and Vtubers out there and you can get really creative with it all too! Honestly, it's incredible how much there is!
