Summary

The author defends the film 'Lesbian Space Princess' against accusations of transphobia, arguing that the movie actually includes trans women in its magical weapon-summoning system and that criticism based on a drag character's inability to summon a weapon misunderstands the distinction between drag performance and gender identity.

🧵Mkay so I’ve seen Lesbian Space Princess now & yall are pissing me off. If you’re down to harass queer creators/projects because you think they’re “cringe” then I think less of you. So the more serious concern! Dare I say if you think this is transphobic, you’re not woke enough

  2. #2

The transphobia claim comes from this drag queen named Blade, who explicitly states she’s always been supported for drag, but not for her main passion: collecting weapons. In this movie, all women can summon a weapon called a Labrys! ALL women! Including trans women!

The drag queen can’t summon one because that’s not how she identifies. Being a drag queen =/= being a trans women, same exact way pronouns =/= gender. You guys aren’t pushing for better representation. You’re just contributing to queer harassment. Respectfully, grow up.
