Summary

A visual analysis comparing the compositional techniques in two anime artworks - My Hero Academia and Helluva Boss. The MHA piece uses a radial composition with characters angled outward from a central focal point that guides the viewer's eye, while the Helluva Boss piece lacks a clear focal point and has characters moving in different directions, creating a busier, less cohesive visual flow.

I’m sorry but these compositions are completely different? The MHA one has all the characters implying motion outward from a defined focal point. The way they’re angled and all funneling from that center area helps lead your eye through the design. The HB one doesn’t. 🧵1/3

@MelleDraws This is an official MHA art, but we won't hear a peep about it 😂. They're only willing to bully the least protected fandoms because it's approved.Pretty pathetic in my view 🥲

There is no real focal point for the Helluva Boss pic. The movement direction is different between all the characters, eye-lines go all over the place. Don’t get me wrong, the art and style is lovely, but the composition for the HB pic does nothing to help lead your eye. 2/3

That’s what making it feel “busy” to folks, especially compared to the MHA pic you’ve used here. Also, HB is my favorite Spindlehorse show, and I’ve never watched MHA. So no, I’m not biased or whatever lol 3/3
