the qiflings' uniform is completely unisex and unassuming, doesn't even tries to be pretty, just practical and safe. and then look at eh. this.

(1) One of the first things we know about Witch society is the importance of their robes. Not just because it's a uniform, but because that's how they hide their magic from unknowings.

(2) The best example of this is when Agott draws a spell to distract the unknowings during the river incident.

(3) Qifrey also must have designed the robes while keeping their arms in mind. When still, Coco's robes completely cover her. But we can see how their arms can move freely if needed.

(4) There also seems to be some uniform with the master and apprentice cloaks to let people know that atelier they're from.

(5) side note Qifrey's atelier isn't the best example for the uniform thing and Kukrow isn't the best example for the long cloaks thing, but you can see it still follows the same idea of needing a long cloak to hide magic.

(6) Now take a look at Luluci's apprenticr clothes. It's pretty, yes, I can't deny that. But it doesn't seem to be functional for a witch who plans to perform magic for other people. The "cloak" is off shoulder and would barely hide her arms if she performs magic.

(7) You can tell from the fabric that it's soft and loose. Which means if she's going to put her equipment anywhere, it'll be visible so she can't even hide that. Witches become apprentices as young as eight years old.

(8) Luluci seems to be a teenager during this time, but how long has she and Eryenne been wearing this?

(9) Adding to that, her masyer isn't even wearing the appropriate length for a witch robe. That isn't going to hide anything from unknowings. It also doesn't look as pretty as his appprentice's robes. It looks pretty basic and less uniform.

(10) It's not a coincidence that he gave them these uniforms. And it most likely isn't a coincidence he gave them to that nobleman. Something tells me he planned to sell them off to that guy.

(11) If the Knights wiped her memories of her assault, he would most likely try to sell her off again. Either to the same person or someone else.

(12) I don't know if it was going to be that bad. Easthies believed in Luluci and didn't wipe her memories. But I wonder if he realized something was wrong aside from it being a case of victim blaming.

(13) Anyway like I said. Luluci's design has been bothering me for so long because it is so nonfunctional. And at the same time it's an amazing piece of storytelling because this is a subtle way to show how adults abuse children in witch society.

(14) I hope we came see Eryenne in the future and know what happened to her. I personally believe she turned to the Brimmed Hats. While Luluci found strength after her abuse and joined the Knights, the Brimmed Hats found Eryenne and manipulated her, probably using her assault--

(15) -- as a way to say, "You can't trust the pointed caps. Trust us instead." But in the end, she's still trapped in a different type of abuse.

(END) TLDR; Luluci's apprentice robes don't function well given what we know about witch society, and her master most likely did it on purpose.

By the way I want to add to this by saying I don't think there's anything wrong with Luluci's apprentice clothes. In a different situation or context, it would be a pretty dress that just doesn't function well for a witch. In fact, it looks like a normal dress.

It's just unfortunately given by the wrong person for the wrong purpose.
