‼️DO NOT COMMISSION @/7H4ZE ‼️ I was recently scammed out of $700 by a huge artist and they have ghosted me! They've been accused of AI and tracing!! Did not really want to post about this, but I wanted to warn others about this artist. 1/16🧵

I initially contacted this artist in August of 2025 for a price inquiry of a new design. They told me it would be $650. It was out of my budget, but I really did like their art. So, I decided to save up for it. 2/16🧵

By the time I had enough money, it was Dec 30, 2025. They responded quickly and asked for a payment upfront. I paid it thinking this artist was reliable because I've seen them post commission work before. 3/16🧵

I added them on discord and they said a 3 sided turnaround sheet was an additional $400. But the back view was only $50. I wanted the design to be usable for fan arts so I decided to add the additional 50. I paid the full amount on Jan 8 2026. 4/16🧵

They had told me it would be done within a month, but after asking multiple times I did not get anything back until Feb 1 2026. I had put together a visual guide and was clear about what I wanted, but when I got my first draft back, it did not look like anything I had asked 5/16

So I told the artist what I wanted and they made changes. Again, after that I did not receive anything close to what I was asking for. I had thought maybe I wasn't being clear, but even small changes ended up not happening. 6/16🧵

It was strange because I've worked with many artists and usually when I ask for a change directly they make an effort to do it, but it seemed like no effort was made. Then I got very sick in February and it worsened in March. 7/16🧵

I had suspected that it might've been traced over AI. There's no proof, but there were lines and stray pixels that did not match the image quality. I didn't want to believe it. So I wanted to get some of the money back but not fully refund so I could use it for the hospital 8/16

I messaged them about the refund on March 2. They didn't respond until March 17. They said they couldn't refund it. I was polite and figured, okay then let's finish the commission as best as possible. I asked for some changes, and this is when they disappeared altogether. 9/16

I checked their twitter to see what was going on, and it seemed like there was some sort of drama going on. I looked into it more and found out they've been accused of tracing. At this point, I felt so betrayed. 10/16🧵

Even so, I decided to be cordial, and I wanted to deny the fact that the artist had any wrongdoing. I did put a lot of money into the project, losing it would feel so bad. I emailed asking for an update on April 7, 2026. 11/16🧵

As I looked into the artist more, I found out that their paypal email was connected to other social media accounts. I found posts online that they've been accused of tracing multiple times and ran multiple accounts posting art regularly. 12/16🧵

I emailed them again April 14, I figured if they were down to talk, I'd be okay with a partial refund. They didn't respond so I issued a paypal chargeback. 13/16🧵

On April 22, the artist offered me a partial refund of just $70. Which meant they were aware of my commission and was purposefully not responding to me. I rejected the offer and sent more proof to paypal. 14/16🧵

PLEASE DON'T HARASS THE ARTIST!! Just try to raise awareness that they scam! The case is still pending to this day. They are still posting on socials. 15/16🧵

I usually don't like posting stuff like this, I hate causing issues. I have been scammed before and I usually take care of it myself. But the artist is still taking work I don't want others to be harmed! 16/16🧵
