I met with the USF Muslim students in person. I watched the ENTIRE 13-minute livestream the perpetrators posted — the one they’ve now quietly deleted. Everything in that video shows a premeditated, hate-driven assault designed to violate students’ rights to assemble and pray.

Let me be clear: These grown men did not stumble into a prayer. They traveled thousands of miles, woke up before dawn, bought bacon as a prop, drove onto campus, strapped on GoPros, turned on YouTube, and snuck up from behind to ambush students in worship. That’s a planned attack.

These men’s pattern is documented: They’ve been traveling from state to state, specifically hunting down Muslim students who pray in public, trying to humiliate them in livestreams for clicks and donations. This was NOT an isolated incident. This is a strategy and a grift.

Their goal was simple. Provoke a physical reaction from Muslim students so they could clip it, go viral, and push the lie that Muslims are violent. The students didn’t fall for it — and that’s why their supporters are scrambling to rewrite the story.

The Constitution protects the right to assemble and the right to pray peacefully on public property. What it does not protect is surrounding people in worship, screaming in their faces, spitting near their heads, and making them fear for their safety.

Christians pray everywhere — stadiums, parks, streets — and nobody tries to stop them. Muslims have the same rights. Equal rights isn’t persecution. Harassing students in prayer is.

If a group of men stormed a Christian or Jewish youth prayer and livestreamed themselves taunting and circling teenagers, EVERYONE would call it what it is. The only reason some people are twisting this is because the victims were Muslim.

Don’t get played by the same old anti-Muslim scare tactics — the lies about “Sharia takeover” and “Muslims must be stopped.” It’s nonsense. It always was! This is a tiny community just trying to pray, study, raise their children and live their lives. The only thing taking over is the hate machine.

If you think “no touching = no assault,” pls read FL Statute 784.011. Assault doesn’t require contact — just a threat + an act that makes someone fear harm. These men didn’t need to punch students. They created fear on purpose. That is assault. Why else did they travel from Texas and Oklahoma to Tampa to track down teenagers?

A week ago, 11 USF Muslim students prayed alone on a rooftop. Today, hundreds joined them — students, allies, and community — standing together after extremists tried to disrupt their worship. They tried to break their spirits. Instead, God honored their patience and multiplied their support.
