Summary

A report by Network Contagion Research Institute alleges that CAIR-California abused millions in federal funds intended for Afghan refugee legal services, instead redirecting money toward unreported lobbying activities against Israel and supporting protest movements. The thread claims this violates federal lobbying disclosure laws and IRS restrictions on political activity by tax-exempt organizations.

🧵 THREAD: CAIR accused of abusing federal funds in report A few days ago, Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) put out a damning report on Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR); specifically, the California branch. I took the time to independently verify their claims -- and can affirm they are quite damning. CAIR, if you remember, is a Muslim Brotherhood front and was recently declared a terrorist organization by Governor Abbott. As always, patience as I pull together the thread.

The report opens with a startling claim - that CAIR-CA has abused millions of dollars.

Here's a prior thread where CAIR got exposed as being tied to Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas:

🧵 THREAD: The CAIR–Muslim Brotherhood–Hamas Pipeline They Don't Want You to See This thread has been a long time coming. Let's start with a simple fact: In its 1988 charter, Hamas openly declares itself the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. So here's the question: 🇺🇸 Why hasn't the U.S. designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a Foreign Terrorist Organization? Seems obvious, right? Here’s my answer 👇 If the Muslim Brotherhood is formally labeled a terror group... ➡️ Then CAIR, founded by leaders from the Brotherhood's U.S. network, gets implicated too. And if CAIR gets implicated… ➡️ Then so do a lot of politicians. 📍And that’s the line no one in D.C. wants to cross. So instead, the Brotherhood stays "undesignated." CAIR keeps the civil rights label and keeps its tax advantaged nonprofit status. And the public is left in the dark. Patience as I pull the receipts.

In its federal audit, CAIR reported receiving over 15 million dollars, mostly for supporting Afghan refugees in legal representation. That is an oddity -- since its accompanying 990 reports about 15 million dollars in expenses, 2 million of which is used in "fundraising events."

The natural question is -- where did the money go? NCRI found that this money coincided with a great increase in lobbying efforts that went unreported on CAIR's 990. And indeed, CAIR-CA's own annual report talks a lot about its own counter-Israel lobbying and barely mentions any legal services given.

This is the same CAIR branch which @nypost exposed as giving anti-Israel protesters $1000. One can only wonder if it is not coincidental that the MAGA civil war started immediately after Trump brokered the peace deal with Palestine and it no longer made sense to redirect that money to college protesters.

@nypost CAIR-CA was a supporter of No Kings and also Prop 50 in California. Your taxpayer dollars, financing your own coup...

NCRI quantified some of the dollar amounts. CAIR's lobbying isn't registered with the federal government -- which they believe to be in violation of the Political Reform Act (Gov. Code §§ 86100–86117.), the Lobbying Disclosure Act (2 U.S.C. § 1602), and IRS 501(c)(3) limits on political activity (31 U.S.C. § 1352).

@nypost You can download the full NCRI report here; they've done a good job of linking all the receipts. CAIR needs to be federally declared a terrorist group for their ties to Muslim Brotherhood, and all funding ties cut off forever. networkcontagion.us/reports/on-int…

@nypost Thanks to @ncri_io and @IANempowers for doing this report and backing it up with receipts.
