Summary

An elderly cancer survivor's home in Austin was robbed of thousands of dollars including irreplaceable keepsakes from her late husband, and a nearby construction business lost $30,000 in tools. Despite providing police with video evidence, license plates, and suspect locations, the community took matters into their own hands by posting evidence online, and neighbors ultimately helped locate the suspects.

AUSTIN PSA - Sunday night, between 1–2 a.m., our widowed neighbor — an elderly cancer survivor — was robbed. They kicked in her door, stole thousands, including handmade keepsakes from her late husband. The next night she stayed up, lights on, no door, terrified. We’re DONE. 🧵

Hours after her break-in, another family on our street — who own a small construction business — had their trailer cleaned out. $30,000 in tools & equipment gone. Caught on camera. Same truck. Same people. We have photos. We have the plate.

We handed the police everything — video, license plate, location of the suspects, even the hotel & rooms they were in. And still… nothing. Just told to “report online” and wait 3–5 days. Meanwhile, these thieves roam free.

Families on our street are now making plans to leave Austin. They’ve had enough of living in a city where criminals are protected more than law-abiding citizens. We pay high taxes. We deserve real protection.

This isn’t a shot at individual officers — we respect them. They have shown up a TON for our community. But the system is broken. And these criminals got lucky. This is Texas. Our neighborhood is heavily armed. If they came back, it wouldn’t end well for them.

We’re posting all evidence: 📸 Photos of the truck 🎥 Security video 🚨 License plate We believe they’re tied to San Marcos / Lockhart. Share this. Let’s find them before they hurt anyone else.

RT this thread. Send tips. If you see this truck — call the police. Do not approach, they are a danger to everybody. They are so bad they would probably hurt children! We’ll keep doing the detective work if the city won’t. Let’s serve these criminals up on a silver platter.

Update: We found the truck leaving hotel, rolling through the neighborhoods. Called police so we’ll see what happens this time. South Austin beware… down Teri Rd near Pleasant Valley

APD got them. Funny enough it wasn’t because millions of people saw this post. It was because a few of my neighbors are amazing and tenacious and kept on the case. Thank all of you for your support and sympathy.
