McMuffin is the sickest dog I’ve ever rescued here on the streets of Thailand. She was covered in cancer, 500 blood sucking ticks and was hours from death. This is the uplifting story of how today she is celebrating a big birthday party in Germany (1/12) 🧵

I will never forget the smell or how broken she was in the vets when I made this video. We took her to 2 different vets and both said there was no way she could make it. They didn’t even know how to start treating her. She’d been thrown out on the street when sick (2/12)

I’m not ashamed to say that I went home that night when she stayed in the vets and I made peace with myself that the best bet was to put her out of her misery. She was just too sick. I didn’t sleep that night but knew it was for the best (3/12)

Something changed when I saw her in the morning. She was deathly pale but with her bandages on and a tiny glint in her eyes I changed my mind. The tumors were cancerous and all over her body. Cutting into the bone even. We would try and fix her even if chances tiny (4/12)

It was a huge journey… 💊 10 weeks of chemo 💰 Close to $5000 in bills 📆 Over 2 months in the vet 🐶 Agony for McMuffin in isolation I saw her every day. My only dream was to get her to the new land to show her. And maybe some comfort in life (5/12)

McMuffin did survive and she made it out of the vets to come and recover with lots of other sick dogs like King Whacker, Hope and Derek. Despite her illness she became the life and soul of @wearehappydoggo She lived there for a year as she recovered (6/12)

The problem was her immune system was badly compromised. She went on to lose an eye and nearly a leg through bad infections. She was always sick. But eventually she battled back to full health and needed a miracle home. She was sick and could be very expensive. Not easy (7/12)

Luckily a wonderful German couple called Sabrina and Dom had been visiting and helped me for 2 months. They fell in love and knew McMuffin from Thailand. We agreed I would cover all the costs of her getting there and some medical bills and they would take her in (8/12)

They have spoiled McMuffin and given her a life she could only have dreamt of. She goes on holidays, hikes and has 2 cats she loves and a human baby on the way. They opened their hearts and home to a sick dog who needed special care (9/12)

So imagine my sheer joy to log in and see that they had created McMuffins first ever birthday party. None of us have any idea how old she was or when she was born but they made a special day for her. I can’t think of a dog that deserves it more (10/12)

She even got her own steak and eggs. It’s hard to believe that this tiny little dog alone and about to die on the streets of Thailand is sitting there like a queen now in Germany being treated like this. (11/12)

The moral of the story is no matter how down or out you might be you always have a chance to come back. She might just be a small dog but I think McMuffin’s story can give us all hope and the energy to fight when we need it most 🥰🙏 (12/12)
